4th of July - DIY Pom-Pom Fireworks Centerpiece and Swizzle Sticks Here it is almost the 4th of July, and we certainly can't have a holiday without a cute centerpiece, now can we? I'm that girl who simply must have a centerpiece with fresh flowers on holidays. Don't hate me! I used to work in fresh flower shops back in the day, and it's just the best thing in the world to come home to that sweet smell of freshness. So, I ran to the Trader Joe's and grabbed a bundle of fresh flowers and plopped them...

I have just been dying to make a frame with pompoms, and when I saw this adorable canvas quote art in the Michael's store, that was it. I grabbed it up the minute I saw it. Plus, my daughter Tricia always signs her cards with "Forever and Always" so it was the perfect gift for her new home in Iowa. When you make this pompom frame, just know that the Aleene's® Super Fabric Adhesive™ is truly one of my favorite glues, and it has been for a very long time. I always keep it in my designer tote when I go to...

This adorable little felt banner at Michael's store was just sitting on a shelf waiting for me last week and I grabbed it up immediately. (Click here for a link to the banner) I didn't know where I was going to put it, but it didn't matter at the moment because I was in love! I mean, it is such a great color combo, it's that rich thick wooly felt, and such a cute size, I knew I could find a place for it somewhere. Here's all you need: I wasted no time getting to my yarn stash to make the...

Here's some fun news..... Did you know that you can make newspaper pom-poms with the PattieWack™ Pom-Pom Maker? All you need is a newspaper, scissors, and chenille stems (aka pipe cleaners) and heavy wire or a dowel rod. Simply cut 1/4" strips of newspaper lengthwise. It won't take much for each pom-pom. Then wind the strips around the pom-pom maker at the 3" section of the large tool. Bind the center with a chenille stem. Cut both sides of the pom-pom to release it from the tool. Fluff it out, and attach it to a dowel rod or heavy...

How fun is this? Covered hangers with pompoms are so simple, yet really functional. Wind yarn around the third section of the PattieWack™ Pom-Pom Maker until it's nice and full. Tie it as tightly as possible in the center with another length of yarn. Pull the tied yarn toward the point of the tool to loosen the yarn slightly, then cut the loops on both sides to release the pompom. Now, trim the pompom and tie it to a fabric covered hanger. Super cute!
