Straw Purse TieredTassel

Your straw market bag needs this Tiered Tassel in yummy colors of various greens and purples.  You can make it yourself with the fabulous Pattiewack Tassel and Pompom Makers

The Tiered Tassel is a combination of 3 tassels, a pompom and a vintage wooden spool, which is fun and easy, and quick to make.

I've had this bag since living in Santa Barbara several years ago, and I  used it every weekend to shop at the farmer's market.  And now I feel like I've got a brand NEW bag since I made this Tiered Tassel to tie onto the handle.

At the risk of sounding like a "Martha", I just have to say that the yarn you choose for your Tiered Tassel is everything.  These yarns have been sitting on my shelf for a while, because I wanted to save them for something rich and organic to echo the earthiness of the yarn.  I just love the colors and luxurious feeling they have.  I think they match the bag perfectly.  You will have to decide what YOUR style is, and how you want your Tiered Tassel to reflect that style, and to match your bag.

I did save the label on the dandelion yarn from a trip to Portland's Knit Purl shop.  It's merino wool in the Forage line from Bumblebirch.  Click here for more info.

Here's what you'll need for your Tiered Tassel:

Large Pattiewack Tassel Maker

Mini Pattiewack Pompom Maker

3 Colors of Yarn

Wooden Spool or Large Bead

Large Upholstery Needle

Needle Threader

Here's how to make your Tiered Tassel:

You'll make 3 different sizes of tassels and a pompom, then tie them together on a wooden spool.  You can substitute a large bead for the spool if you don't have one.  Let's start with the bottom 4-inch tassel.

And you're done!!  Now all you have to do is tie the Tiered Tassel to you bag.  If you want a tiered tassel that you can switch to other bags, simply tie the tassel to a lobster hook or keychain finding.
